Chinese innovations have been spreading to the rest of the world http://www.carolinahurricanesteamstore.com/adidas-victor-rask-jersey , among which is bike-sharing, a business model that stands out in the sharing economy.

After taking off in big Chinese cities, leading bike-sharing companies in China begin gearing up for global expansion.?

Mobike, one of China's largest dockless bike-sharing companies http://www.carolinahurricanesteamstore.com/adidas-trevor-van-riemsdyk-jersey , launched its service in the Greater Manchester, Britain on June 29 this year. With the support of the Manchester City Council, Salford City Council and Transport for Greater Manchester, an initial of 1,000 bikes were put in key locations, such as main train stations and major destinations for leisure and entertainment.

Earlier this year, Mobike also launched its bicycle-sharing service in Singapore. According to Florian Bohnert, head of international expansion at Mobike, the business model of bike-sharing had been welcomed by local residents and transport authorities alike during the trial period.

Moreover, Mobike has set up a company to oversee its business in Japan, making smart cycling available for local users there. An ambitious plan has been on founder Hu Weiwei’s mind -- to spread Mobike’s service to 200 cities in 2017.

Ofo, a rival company of Mobike in China, has also expanded overseas to reach the?United States, Britain, Singapore and Kazakhstan.

According to co-founder Zhang Siding, since ofo launched its service in Singapore in February, users have reached 100,000 http://www.carolinahurricanesteamstore.com/adidas-scott-darling-jersey , and daily orders are at 20,000.

This April, 20 iconic “little yellow bikes” from ofo appeared in Cambridge, Britain. In June, ofo announced to enter Kazakhstan. 1,000 bikes were scheduled to be deployed in Astana, making this central Asian country the fourth overseas market for ofo.

What’s more, ambitious ofo founder and CEO Dai Wei anticipated that ofo could provide services in about 20 countries and regions, mostly Belt and Road countries.

This June, a Sydney venture backed by China’s third largest bike-sharing business Bluegogo planed to bring dockless bikes to the capital city of Australia. Shared bikes supplied by Bluegogo would ship from China to appear on Sydney’s streets. A spokesperson of the venture said, “dockless bike share has the potential to transform travel in our city.”

However, Chinese bike sharing companies have inevitably met with some common challenges overseas.

Urban management is a big issue as many local city officials overseas have conveyed concerns over station-free bikes, for fear that they may lead to disorder and congestion on sidewalks. China is also drafting standards to regulate bike-sharing services to achieve better management. As a result, bike sharing companies will have to develop individualized services to cope with the situations and regulations of different cities.

In Australia, the market may heat up very quickly as well. In the city of Melbourne, oBike from Singapore is already in operation. And in September, Sydney University will launch a rival bike-share scheme called Airbike.
