The D Rose adidas boost 6 and J Wall 2 have already been unveiled, so it's only a matter of time until Damian Lillard's 2nd signature shoe with adidas is shown to the world. We have seen a couple of leaks that indicate that the D Lillard 2 may be using Boost technology, but nothing has been confirmed until it comes from the horse's mouth. If the D Lillard 2 were to use Boost then it would automatically be better than the J Wall 2. Here's to hoping that it does.
This is the shoe that comes to mind whenever i see or someone mentions the name adidas in this particular white and black colorway. If adidas could figure out a way to add Boost to the Superstar without changing the classic look, we would have a huge winner on our adidas predator hands. They already added a Primeknit upper so why not a Boost midsole next? Let's keep our fingers crossed. What adidas kicks do you wish were hit with Boost technology? Let me know your choices in the comments below.
The major difference is the "Club 75" which runs adidas originals along the upper and the logo that is exchanged for the classic Stan Smith logo, and the insole is swapped for a custom insole by Club 75.Adidas did the right thing by handing one of their beloved silhouettes over to the Japanese designers of Mastermind. The outcome was a modge podge of textures, and a good looking set of skulls going throughout the shoe.
Putting on a classic pair of three stripes is like having history on my feet but without the pretentiousness and baggage (thanks, social media) that comes with wearing adidas ultra boost other shoes that we all know and love. Hearing it from the people who have actually seen and flipped through the book, it feels like an essential piece that every sneakerhead has to have in the same way that owning a pair of Stan Smiths or Superstars is a must-have in any collection.
However, forget the logistical nightmare of trying to get into a decent club wearing a scuffed up pair of kicks (because I don't know how you play basketball, but there's no way they're making it out of a game in pristine condition), what kind of hygienically challenged human being are you that you would wear the same stinky kicks that you were playing in that afternoon and then turn around and wear them inside a fine establishment? It's a great shoe that deserves a well-marketed reissue, but maybe downplay the whole "ADAN" part just a tad& Good friend of the site Gilbert Arenas was killing it with adidas during his prime years in Washington.
One of the first athletes to truly embrace things that we take adidas football boots for granted now like blogs and social media, Arenas was also making waves with his signature line. For the Gil 2 Zero, the original plan was to make 82 unique colorways of the shoe for each game of the regular season, tapping into the many things that Arenas happens to be interested in like video games and hibachis. In the end, a grand total of around 20 colorways were made (an astronomical number back then for a signature shoe, but now all brands seemingly do that for their signature releases) with many of them dropping in extremely limited quantities. |
